What time do the Competitions start?

The Preliminary Competition will start at 8:00PM ET. The National Costume Competition will start at 10PM ET.

Will there be an intermission?

There will be a 15 minute intermission between the Preliminary Competition and the National Costume Competition

How long is the show?

Preliminary Competition: Approximately 90 Minutes
National Costume Show: Approximately 60 minutes

The events will be hosted by Miss Universe 2018, Catriona Gray, and comedian and fan favorite, Nick Teplitz

What is the National Costume Competition?

A Miss Universe tradition, the National Costume Competition features the 90 contestants in costumes that best represent their countries. The annual event proves to be one of the most popular, fun-filled opportunities for contestants to share costumes that range from traditional to humorous, to inspiring, each making its own unique statement.

What is the Preliminary Competition?

Women representing 90 countries will compete on stage in swimsuit and evening gown. The Preliminary Competition will determine the Miss Universe finalists announced during the live event on Sunday, December 8 at 7:00pm ET live on FOX. Prior to the Preliminary Competition, the Miss Universe selection committee will meet with the contestants to understand each woman’s accomplishments and aspirations during individual interviews.
